Joshua Weissman is a prominent chef, author, and digital content creator best known for his engaging cooking videos and culinary expertise. Weissman began his journey into cooking at the age of three, inspired by his mother’s skills in the kitchen.

Despite being bullied in school for his love of cooking and his weight, Weissman persevered, eventually losing over 100 pounds through a combination of healthy eating and exercise. This transformation led to his first book, The Slim Palate, which he wrote as a teenager to document his weight loss journey and passion for cooking.

Weissman never attended culinary school, instead gaining hands-on experience working in the restaurant industry. One of his key roles was as a lead cook at the highly respected Uchiko restaurant in Austin, Texas.

His deep understanding of food, combined with his playful personality—evident in his use of phrases like “thicc bois” and “cwispy”—helped him build a large following on YouTube, where he shares recipes and cooking tips through series like “But Better” and “But Cheaper.”

Today, Weissman continues to create content full-time, focusing on accessible, high-quality cooking while encouraging people to make restaurant-quality meals at home. His work emphasizes fresh ingredients and creative cooking techniques, making him a beloved figure in the online cooking community.
